Dr. Jose Luis Silva holds a PhD in Computer Engineering from the MAP-i Consortium (Universities of Minho, Aveiro, and Porto) and completed postdoctoral research at IRIT, University of Toulouse, France. Since 2016, he has been an Assistant Professor at ISCTE-IUL and a member of LARSyS. He co-leads the MEROP research team and has led and contributed to national and international research projects involving FCT, CMU Portugal, Airbus, and the European Space Agency. He has also participated in simulated Mars missions AMADEE-20 and AMADEE-24. His research has been published in leading journals and conferences, including IEEE Access, IJHCS, ACM EICS, ACM IUI, and ACM/IEEE HRI. His research interests include Human-Robot Interaction, Interactive Systems, and Space Exploration.
